Hyundai Mobility Thailand is preparing to officially enter the electric vehicle (EV) market for the first time. After coming into business on its own on April 1, 2023, it will push "IONIQ" (Ionic) to be an EV brand in Thailand.
According to the plan, Hyundai Mobility Thailand (HMT), a company that invested 100% in Hyundai Motor Korea, will enter the market instead of Hyundai Motor (Thailand), which is the distributor by a group of investors from Japan. Since April 1st, the campaign "Thailand Meets IONIQ" has been announced, bringing the electric vehicle or EV (EV) brand "IONIQ" from Hyundai into full marketing.
Hyundai will invade the Thai electric vehicle market with the concept “THAILAND MEETS IONIQ”, pinning Thailand as Southeast Asia's main electric vehicle market.
The first EV model that will be launched in Thailand is the IONIQ5 at the end of this year.
Hyundai says the IONIQ 5 is a high-performance electric car comparable to European and American brands. Entering this market will not only increase options for Thai customers. It also reinforces confidence. After the parent company from South Korea officially took over the management of the Hyundai brand in Thailand.

In the past, Hyundai marketed well in Thailand with MPV vehicles like the H1 family, but after entering and making mistakes on its own Hyundai began to expand the market. Starting with the launch of the small MPV, the Stargazer, followed by the revival of the Creta market again.

Charging supports both alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC).
Standard model AC 11 kW charging takes 5 hours 30 minutes. DC 50 kW charging from 10-80% takes 47 minutes. Ultra Fast charging 350 kW from 10-80% takes 18 minutes.
Long Range model, AC 11 kW charging takes 6 hrs. 45 minutes, DC 50 kW from 10-80% 1 hr.
