อย่างไรก็ตาม Nissan ยังไม่เปิดเผยรายละเอียดของรถรุ่นนี้มากนัก แต่ด้วยหน้าตาที่คล้ายกับ Versa รุ่นปี 2012 ที่ได้เคยเผยภาพทีเซอร์ไปแล้ว ก็อาจจะทำให้ฝรั่งหลายคนฟันธงไปว่ามันคือ Versa ในชื่อ Sunny (ซึ่งอาจจะทำให้โยงไปถึง TIIDA ซึ่งคือ Versa ในอเมริกาและบางตลาด) อย่างไรก็ตาม Nissan ไม่ได้เอ่ยถึง Versa หรือความเกี่ยวข้องของรถทั้งสองรุ่นนี้แต่อย่างใด ฉะนั้นความแน่นอนจะเกิดขึ้นก็ต่อเมื่อเมื่อมีการแถลงข่าวออกมาเท่านั้น

All-New Sunny รุ่นนี้เป็นซีดานขนาดเล็ก ซึ่งมีสื่อฝรั่งเดากันว่า Sunny รุ่นนี้ใช้พื้นฐานที่ได้มาจาก Micra หรือใช้ชื่อในการทำตลาดที่บ้านเราว่า March เพราะเห็นแผงหน้าปัดคล้ายๆกัน ซึ่งโครงสร้างของ March ตามสเปคบ้านเราเล็กเกินไปเนื่องจากผลิตขึ้นมาตามโจทย์ของรัฐบาลในเรื่องอีโคคาร์ อีกอย่าง Sunny ในบ้านเราก็ถูกจัดให้อยู่ในตลาดคอมแพคท์คาร์ซึ่งเป็นรถคนละเซกเมนต์กับ March อย่างชัดเจน ยกเว้น Nissan ตัดสินใจให้ March ซีดานหน้าตาออกมาเป็นแบบนี้จริงๆแบบไม่ต้องปรับเปลี่ยนใดๆซึ่งแน่นอนว่า “ขายดี” ซึ่ง Nissan มีแนวคิดในการใช้รูปทรงและเส้นสายการออกแบบคล้ายกันสำหรับรถรุ่นต่างๆอยู่แล้ว ตามที่เราได้เห็นบ่อยๆจาก Sunny และ Cefiro รุ่นก่อนๆ
สำหรับประเทศจีน Sunny มีขุมพลังเป็นเครื่องยนต์ 4 สูบ HR15DE 1.5 ลิตร ขับเคลื่อนผ่านเกียร์ Xtronic CVT โดยวิศวกรของ Nissan ได้ใช้ระบบกันสะเทือนหน้าแบบ MacPherson Strut ส่วนด้านหลังเป็นแบบ Torsion Beam โดย Nissan จะผลิตรถรุ่นนี้ที่โรงงานของบริษัทฯในเมืองกวางโจว ประเทศจีน และจำหน่ายในราคา 82,800-112,800 หยวนครับ

2011 All-New Nissan Sunny Commercial
Today’s Nissan Sunny is nothing like that near-prehistoric model … but then the Japanese automotive industry was nothing like what we have today either. Back then no one was thinking of launching a ‘global’ car but today it’s the ‘global’ car concept that is saving so many of the major car makers and today’s Nissan Sunny is Nissan’s global car.
Nissan launched the new Sunny yesterday at the 8th China (Guangzhou) International Automobile Exhibition and the new car will go on sale in China in January 2011. From there Nissan plan to market the Sunny … under a variety of other model names … across 170 other countries including Australia.
The all-new Sunny is expected to appeal to young families in their 30s looking for a medium sized sedan that combines outstanding fuel economy with a dynamic upscale design with the space, quality and features associated with the Nissan brand.
Combining the proven Nissan 1.5-liter HR15DE engine with dual injectors and a new-generation Xtronic CVT with an auxiliary transmission, the new Sunny will delivers a better driving experience for city drivers.
MacPherson struts are used for the front suspension and a torsion beam for the rear suspension, making for sporty and agile driving at low speeds and steady and stable driving at higher speeds.
There’s no indication of when we’re likely to see Nissan’s new global sedan here Australia.
